Additional Suggested Contract Language

The contract presented here represents some of the most crucial items necessary to protect your teen/underage driver.  As a parent/guardian, you don’t have to stop there.  It’s crucial that you taylor yours and your teen/underage driver’s contract to your own, personal needs.  Here are a few more suggested provisions that you may want in your own contract.

Inappropriate or Reckless Driving                             

I, the under-signed teen/underage driver, will at no time drive in a reckless or otherwise inappropriate manner nor will I ride in a motor vehicle being driven in this manner.

Being seen by anyone violating this provision will result in a denial of the teen’s driving privileges for _____ months.

Traffic Tickets

I, the under-signed teen/underage driver, understand that receipt of any moving violations will result in the immediate denial of my driver’s license for _____ months, and any resulting fines and/or increases in insurance must be paid by me.

Crashes/Accidents

I, the under-signed teen/underage driver, understand that if I am involved in a crash/accident that I caused will result in the immediate denial of my driver’s license for _____ months, and any resulting traffic fines and/or increases in insurance must be paid by me.

Who, What, When and Where

I, the under-signed teen/underage driver, understand that the under-signed parent/guardian/adult driving supervisor will know who and/or what is being transported in my car at all times as well as when and where I am going when I am driving and/or riding in a vehicle. 

Violation of this provision will result in a denial of the teen’s driving privileges for _____ months.
